Gene Watson’s Peers within the country music industry believe in the sheer talent of this unassuming man from east Texas, so much so that Gene is regarded by many of them as ‘the singer’s singer’ – and rightly so!
All of Gene Watson’s Peers, who were contacted by The Gene Watson Fan Site, during 2017, were most gracious with their time and words.
It is here, within this special part of The Gene Watson Fan Site, that you have an opportunity to read a quote from Sarah Peacock, which she submitted to this site on Monday 6 November 2017.
Sean Brady would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to Sarah Peacock who has made a special contribution to a unique part of this online ‘celebration of a Lone Star Hero’.

‘Gene Watson is such a sweetheart.
He and his crew were fun, funny and great to work with.
Gene and I had a few moments to share backstage in which he was very complimentary and encouraging towards me.
I really enjoyed hearing his hits and even some deeper cuts that I hadn’t heard before.
Even with 50 years in country music, he’s still hitting the notes, and I hope I have the chance to perform with him again someday soon.
Keep rocking on, Gene Watson!’
Thank you, Sarah Peacock, for your support of Gene Watson.
About Sarah Peacock…
Sarah Peacock is a Georgia grown singer / songwriter, who swings the pendulum across the spectrum of what is considered to be today’s country music; bridging gaps between modern country music, alternative country music, folk, Americana, and even classic rock music.
Sarah Peacock was born into a musical family and began taking piano lessons at the ripe old age of four; it was Sarah’s grandmother who started teaching her piano, and there was always music in the house. Sarah Peacock had two sisters who both played and sang, and Sarah’s parents tirelessly shuffled them to and from piano recitals, chorus concerts, theatre productions, and singing competitions.
When she was eleven years old, Sarah Peacock received her first guitar, and began teaching herself the drums when she was thirteen years old.
When she was fourteen years old, Sarah Peacock wrote her first song, and grew up being heavily involved with music at school and at church.
Sarah Peacock has an extensive background in classical voice, musical theatre and music theory. In junior high and high school, Sarah Peacock performed in plays, talent shows, won governor’s honours, and scholarships, and also performed in a touring broadway production.
In 2001, having developed a passion for music throughout her childhood, Sarah Peacock decided to ‘get serious’ about her career as an artist, and moved to Nashville. Sarah Peacock developed her talent as a vocalist, songwriter and performer at Belmont University, and graduated, in 2005, with a bachelors degree in commercial music.
In 2006, Sarah Peacock was signed to the independent record label, Maze Records.
Since then, Sarah Peacock has been diligently writing songs, touring, recording and developing her fan base as a singer / songwriter in cities all over the United States. With the ability to play every instrument, Sarah Peacock is an extremely well rounded musician and performer.
