On Monday 30 March 2026, Gene Watson praised his tour manager, band leader, guitar player and vocalist, Chad Phillips.
‘It may seem like the easy life being on the road, but I can tell you, the business of being a working musician can be tough, unless you have a great team surrounding you.
I’m extremely lucky to have the support from my band members, my management team, booking agent, CPA and no one more important than my Tour Manager, Chad Phillips.
Most of you know Chad as the band leader and excellent guitar player and vocalist on stage – but what you don’t see is his hard work each week, checking every part of the tour dates from the routing, to hotel rooms, stage equipment, lighting and everything involved in each show.
He makes it look easy, but it’s a tough job and, so today, I’m giving him a special shout out – a big thank you for all you do, Chad’
