On Saturday 20 June 2026, Gene Watson reflected on two very enjoyable evenings at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

‘We had a great night (Thursday 18 June 2026) at the Grand Ole Opry.
Got to see old friends and made new ones.
This young man was probably just 20 years old when I first met him, and I believe he’s grown even taller!
This is the great country music singer, Chris Young.
We sang a Merle Haggard (Tuesday 6 April 1937 – Wednesday 6 April 2016) song together on his 25th birthday at Country Music Association (CMA) Fest one year.
Be sure to check out his latest music!

I met this year’s ‘American Idol’ runner up, Jordan McCullough, who wowed the house with his voice (on Thursday 18 June 2026), as did Denitia (on Friday 19 June 2026) with her great real country music.

My good friend, Erin Enderlin, stopped by to visit (on Thursday 18 June 2026) – check out her Facebook page; she’s an incredible singer/songwriter and producer!

And, of course, Neal McCoy, brought the house down as he does anytime he’s onstage.
One of the very best entertainers you will ever see.

I also enjoyed visits with Mae Estes, Doyle Lawson and Mark Wills.
