‘Sunday night was a big night with thousands of fans in attendance at Fayette County Fair in La Grange, Texas.  We had the pleasure of working with the renowned group, Terry McBride & The Ride.  Their legions of fans cheered wildly for their hits, ‘Sacred Ground’ (written by Kix Brooks and Vernon Ruste) (No.2, 1992), ‘Going Out of My Mind’ (written by Kostas and Terry McBride) (No.5, 1992), ‘Just One Night’ (written by Terry McBride) (No.5, 1992), and more.

We did our best to follow their great set, and were grateful to see the audience singing along to our hits, ‘Love In The Hot Afternoon’, which was written by Kent Westberry and Vincent Wesley Matthews (1940 – Saturday 22 November 2003), ‘Fourteen Carat Mind’, which was written by Dallas Frazier (Friday 27 October 1939 – Friday 14 January 2022) and Larry Lee Favorite (1939 – Saturday 26 May 2001) No.1 for one week in January 1982 (Saturday 9 January 1982 – Saturday 16 January 1982) and, of course, my signature song, ‘Farewell Party’, which was written by Lawton Williams (Monday 24 July 1922 – Thursday 26 July 2007) (No.5, 1979).

The Fayette County Fair was established in the 1920s, and has grown to be one of the most esteemed fairs in the state of Texas, with an attendance of over 50,000.

We were honoured to be a small part of this year’s fair, and hope they’ll have us back again soon.
