‘At the Grand Ole Opry, I had a visit, on Saturday 7 March 2026, on the bus with the great singer, Ty Herndon, (‘What Mattered Most’ was No.1 on the Billboard country music singles chart in May/June 1995), and backstage enjoyed talking to 16-year-old mandolin prodigy and singer, Wyatt Ellis.

During my show, Dan Rogers, Senior Vice President & Executive Producer of the Opry, surprised me with a special Opry 100 commemorative scarf designed by Manuel.

Fashion designer, Manuel, has made stage clothes worn by Jimi Hendrix (Friday 27 November 1942 – Friday 18 September 1970), Johnny Cash (Friday 26 February 1932 – Friday 12 September 2003), Dolly Parton, Hank Williams (Monday 17 September 1923 – Thursday 1 January 1953), Emmylou Harris, Marty Stuart, Waylon Jennings (Tuesday 15 June 1937 – Wednesday 13 February 2002), and so many more.

It’s hard to see the scarf in this photo, but the Opry backdrop design shows a good example of Manuel’s creative style’
