On Tuesday 26 March 2024, Gene Watson recalled receiving awards from the Oklahoma Country Music Association in 1985.

Back in 1985, I was given the ‘Entertainer of The Year’ award, and my band was given ‘Band of The Year’ award from the Oklahoma Country Music Association.
