On Wednesday 11 October 2023, Gene Watson celebrated a very special occasion, his 80th birthday.
‘Well, today is actually my birthday. Yes, I’m 80.
I do appreciate every birthday I get.

I want to show you this old Capitol Records photo, because I was honoured to share a birthday with the late, great Dottie West (Tuesday 11 October 1932 – Wednesday 4 September 1991).
The staff, along with artist, Charlie Rich (Wednesday 14 December 1932 – Tuesday 25 July 1995), surprised us both with birthday cake at the office.
