Gene Watson Celebrates Chad Philips’ 53rd Birthday

Gene Watson and Chad Phillips (lead guitar player with The Farewell Party Band) at The Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, where they viewed an early prototype of the solid body electric guitar, which was designed by the famous guitar wizard, Les Paul (9 June 1915 - Wednesday 12 August 2009). They call this guitar 'The Log'. Les Paul wanted to show that a solid body would hold string vibrations longer, and make a better tone than the usual hollow-body guitar.

On Monday 23 December 2024, Gene Watson remembered Chad Philips’ 53rd birthday – Wednesday 25 December 2024 (Christmas Day).

‘Some of you may not know that our fearless band leader, tour manager, and guitar player, Chad Phillips, is a Christmas Baby!

Yes, he was born on Christmas Day 53 years ago (Saturday 25 December 1971), so be sure to wish him a very Happy Birthday coming up on the 25th.

Chad also provides those great harmonies for me, and makes sure everything runs smoothly onstage and off.

For Chad’s excellent guitar work, he relies on Lucky Dog Guitars of Cleveland, Tennessee where he gets custom-made guitars for that wonderful sound you hear at our shows.

They not only sound great, they look great too.

All of us who work with Chad know he’s a hard worker and a good man, so we all wish you a very Happy Birthday on December 25th!’
