‘I’ve had such a busy couple of weeks, I didn’t get to congratulate my good friend, Jeannie Seely on her 55th Grand Ole Opry anniversary!
I hope you got to hear my special SiriusXM ‘Willie’s Roadhouse’ show this past weekend, with Jeannie Seely hosting, and promoting my ‘Outside The Box‘ (Fourteen Carat Music, 2022) album, which was released on Friday 16 September 2022.
Jeannie Seely also hosted the return of The Midnight Jamboree at The Troubadour in Nashville on Saturday night (19 September 2022).
I’ll never forget when The Wilburn Brothers – Doyle Wilburn (Monday 7 July 1930 – Saturday 16 October 1982) and Teddy Wilburn (Monday 30 November 1931 – Monday 24 November 2003) – brought me to Nashville and, after the Opry, they took me to meet the Ernest Tubb (Monday 9 February 1914 – Thursday 6 September 1984) at The Midnight Jamboree.
I don’t know if I was breathing or not when he called me up onstage to sing one.
Ernest Tubb (Monday 9 February 1914 – Thursday 6 September 1984) was and is still, one of my heroes.
