On Monday 4 March 2024, Gene Watson remembered a gift he received from one of his many fans.

Whether large or small, I always appreciate the kindness and generosity.
I had a nice fan bring this gift to me at the Arlington, Texas show on Wednesday 28 February 2024.
It’s a 1943 penny, which is his birth year, and mine, and he had this note with it.
As Clint Eastwood told Toby Keith (Saturday 8 July 1961 – Monday 5 February 2024), and is quoted in this note, ‘Don’t Let The Old Man In’.
