‘It was nice to see Tommy Detamore and his wife, Sandra, out last night (Thursday 19 January 2023).
Tommy Detamore played with Moe Bandy in the 1980s, but we don’t hold that against him.
If you’re from Texas, you may know Tommy as he’s highly respected in the music community.
Tommy wrote some nice words I thought I’d share’
‘Gene Watson and The Farewell Party Band’ were awesome last night in Victoria, Texas!
Gene was amazing! 79 years young, and even though he has sung those songs a gazillion times, he put every ounce of feeling into every syllable.
He still has a great range (he sings everything in the original keys!), vocal tone, and control.
Very moving performances!
The band was killer as well! Tight arrangements and wonderful dynamics – like they used to do in the old days!
What a concept!’
