On Tuesday 7 February 2023, Gene Watson reflected on the 3rd anniversary of his Grand Ole Opry induction in Nashville.
‘Today marks my Grand Ole Opry Anniversary.
On this day, Friday 7 February 2020, I was officially welcomed into the Opry family.
When I was just a kid, our family would sit and listen to the Opry on the radio, and I was mesmerized by the music.
I never dreamed I would ever stand on that stage, much less be a real Opry member.
It’s impossible to describe the honour I felt to be inducted.
I’ll always be grateful to the Grand Ole Opry, and grateful to you, my fans, who have allowed me to have this career for 60 years’
