On the evening of Friday 1 August 2025, Gene Watson performed at Opry 100, Opry House, 2804 Opryland Drive in Nashville (TN 37214), and was onstage at 8:30pm.

Gene Watson performed ‘For The Good Times’, which was written by Kris Kristofferson (Monday 22 June 1936 – Saturday 28 September 2024). The original version of this track was recorded by Ray Price (Tuesday 12 January 1926 – Monday 16 December 2013), who included it on ‘For The Good Times’ (Columbia Records, 1970); Ray Price‘s version of the track was No.1 on the Billboard country music singles chart for one week in September 1970, reached No.11 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop music singles chart in 1970, and was awarded ‘Song of The Year’ by the Academy of Country Music (ACM).

Ray Price’s ‘For The Good Times’ (Columbia Records, 1970) was awarded ‘Album of The Year’ by the Academy of Country Music (ACM), and reached No.1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart in 1970.
