Howard Bellamy, Gene Watson and David Bellamy: ‘Forever Ain’t Long Enough’ (written by David Bellamy) – February 2024

On Tuesday 13 February 2024, after more interviews, we debuted our single, ‘Forever Ain’t Long Enough’ on The Grand Ole Opry.

When approached by Howard and David – The Bellamy Brothers – to sing this song with them, I wasn’t sure how my style would blend with their slightly more edgy approach but, as it turned out, it was a great match.

We think our single is a fantastic example of the real country music we all love and respect.

Howard & David Bellamy (Bellamy Brothers): 'Reality Check' (MCA Records, 1990)

David Bellamy is a prolific songwriter, and he wrote ‘Forever Ain’t Long Enough’ to include on one of their albums years back – ‘Reality Check’ (MCA Records, 1990) – but their label declared it too country for radio (doesn’t that tell you about why we don’t hear enough real country on the radio today?).

You can hear our single on SiriusXM’s Willie’s Roadhouse, Spotify, and Pandora, and just ask Alexa to play it, she’s a country fan!

You can buy it at all the usual places online’
