On Sunday 26 February 2023, Gene Watson reflected on a great night in Brooksville, Florida.

‘The Brooksville Bluegrass Festival (The Florida Classic Music Fest & Car Show) at 5360 Lockhart Road in Brooksville, Florida is a much-anticipated event in the music world, drawing in fans from all over the country. This year’s festival was particularly special, thanks to a performance by Gene Watson, a legendary country music singer, and Rhonda Vincent, a celebrated bluegrass artist, known as ‘The Queen of Bluegrass’.
With The Grascals kicking off the evening segment of Yhe Brooksville Bluegrass Festival, the night was perfect for an outdoor concert. With the stars shining brightly overhead and a cool breeze blowing through the audience, Gene Watson took the stage, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause, eager to hear his classic hits, including ‘Farewell Party’ and ‘Love In The Hot Afternoon’.

Gene Watson’s smooth voice and The Farewell Party Band’s effortless playing had the audience swaying along to the music. Gene Watson surprised the audience when he brought Rhonda Vincent to join him on stage.

Rhonda Vincent, known for her powerhouse vocals, brought added energy to the show, as the two artists sang a duet of ‘Together Again’, which was written by Buck Owens (Monday 12 August 1929 – Saturday 25 March 2006). To the audience’s delight, the pair also debuted their new duet, ‘I’ve Got One of Those Too’ (written by Jimmy Melton and Erin Enderlin) from Gene Watson’s ‘Outside The Box‘ (Fourteen Carat Music, 2022) release.
The chemistry between Gene Watson and Rhonda Vincent was undeniable, as they harmonised perfectly and played off each other’s energy. The audience was mesmerised by their performance, with many fans commenting that it was one of the best moments of the festival.
