‘I found this photo and maybe I’ve shared it before, but this is from May 2010, when a bunch of us recorded at Sound Emporium studio in Nashville, for a song in honour of Randy Travis‘ ’25th Anniversary Celebration’ (Warner Bros. Records, 2011) album, which was released on Tuesday 7 June 2011.

The song was ‘Didn’t We Shine’, which was written by Don Schlitz and Jesse Winchester (Wednesday 17 May 1944 – Friday 11 April 2014), with George Jones (Saturday 12 September 1931 – Friday 26 April 2013), Lorrie Morgan, Ray Price (Tuesday 12 January 1926 – Monday 16 December 2013), Connie Smith, Joe Stampley and me.

In this photo, I think George and I were talking cars with Joe Stampley.

You know I like to work on cars and Jones collected them.  George’s accountant once said she called Jones to question why he needed 13 cars, and Jones said ’13!’, and went straight out to buy another, because he said 13 was an unlucky number for him’
