On Friday 13 September 2024, Gene Watson & The Farewell Party Band performed at Diamond I Venue in Dime Box, Texas and Gene Watson reflected on his amazing 62-year country music career.
‘As many of you know, I credit having my first recorded single, ‘If It’s That Easy’, way back in 1962.
It was something I recorded mainly to share and try to get bookings, but we did get some radio action on it.
Fast forward to today, and it’s hard to believe I’m in my 62nd year of my career.
I appreciate all of my fans who have been there from the beginning, as well as those who might have just recently heard my music and enjoy it.
I couldn’t do what I do without the help of great band members.
I have a wonderful team right now and, if you’ve been to a show, you know how terrific they are.
