On Wednesday 28 July 2021, Gene Watson remembered his friend, Joe Michael ‘Dusty’ Hill (Thursday 19 May 1949 – Wednesday 28 July 2021) of ZZ Top, who had passed away at his home in Houston, Texas.

‘Saddened to learn that my good friend, Dusty Hill of ZZ Top, passed in his sleep at his home in Houston.
He was 72.
A super talent, he was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, but he loved country music and came to a few of my shows, as well as inviting the band and me to his shows.
RIP Dusty’

ZZ Top enjoyed a number of hit singles, including ‘Gimme All Your Loving’, ‘Sharp Dressed Man’, ‘Legs’ and ‘Viva Las Vegas’.
