On Wednesday 3 June 2026, Gene Watson recalled the fun days of Fan Fair in Nashville in the 1980s.
‘It’s CMA (Country Music Association) Fest time in Nashville – it was known as Fan Fair in the old days.
This photo is from the 1980s when it was held at the fairgrounds.
The metal buildings, where we signed autographs, and took pictures, was possibly the hottest place on earth, but even that didn’t stop the fun.
If you ever attended, you know it was sweltering – but the shows were excellent, and it was always nice to meet our great fans’
