On Friday 19 February 2021, Gene Watson was reminiscing about his older brother, Eddie Watson, and their times together in the 1970s.

‘Well, here’s an old photo for you.
This is my older brother, Eddie, and me, from the early 1970s. We were on the ferry that runs from Galveston to the Bolivar Peninsula.
Eddie and I worked on cars together, but also we worked the clubs when we had the group called Gene Watson & The Other Four. At one time, the ‘other four’ were all Watson relatives. Eddie and I traded back and forth on the harmonies.

He sang lead on his favourite cover songs, like ones by Carl Smith (Tuesday 15 March 1927 – Saturday 16 January 2010). He liked to have killed me when I had to go up on the high harmonies, but those were some good times’
