‘I ran across these old photos from the 1970s, and wanted to share with you.

Capitol Records

I was working around Houston, playing all the big night clubs there, before I was signed to my first major record label, Capitol Records, and had my very first big, national hit in 1975 with ‘Love In The Hot Afternoon’.

As mentioned, this year marks the 50th Anniversary of that single, and I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for that song, since it gave me the opportunity to work on a national level.

Back in the 70’s, I kept my tools handy, in case it didn’t work out, but thanks to all of you, I’ve been singing for my living for over 60 years now’
