‘I found this old photo from 1979 when I was awarded the silver Clement cup from Cash Box magazine for achievement in country music.

It’s always an honour when my music is given an award by the music industry.

The Clement name is for ’Cowboy’ Jack Clement (Sunday 5 April 1931 – Thursday 8 August 2013), who was a major figure in the country music business.

He was inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame, as well as the Country Music Hall of Fame.

His many talents included being a songwriter, engineer, producer, song publisher and record label owner.

Jack Clement also was one of the first to record me in Nashville and, later on, I recorded some of my albums in his studio’
