‘On this date, Tuesday 13 March 1979, I recorded ‘Farewell Party’, which was written by Lawton Williams (Monday 24 July 1922 – Thursday 26 July 2007).
It was last minute, not planned – so I had to teach the musicians and background singers the chords.
We recorded the song in one take, no overdubs.
