On Saturday 13 July 2024, Gene Watson performed at his ‘Homecoming Show’ in Paris, Texas at Love Civic Center.

I especially want to thank my road manager, and amazing guitar player, Chad Phillips, and his wife, Tracy, with Rocking Ridge Entertainment, for putting this show together, and making it an incredible event.
A big thank you also to the Honorable Paris Mayor Pankaj for coming out to the show to present me with the ‘Key To The City’ Award.
As a kid growing up in Paris, I never dreamed of getting the Key, and it was an honour to receive this prestigious gift directly from the Mayor.
Another surprise was presented to me by Chad Phillips – a framed document from our Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, who congratulated me on my many years in the entertainment business, recognizing my contributions to Texas culture and thanking me for carrying on the Lone Star State’s tradition of artistic achievement.
Thank you, Governor Abbott, for this tremendous honour.
The entire evening was special in every way and, of course, I have to thank my band members for their outstanding performance.
They’re always amazing and Saturday night they hit the stage just smokin’ hot on the very first note!
I have one of the best bands in the music business, and they make my job so much easier because I can rely on them at each and every show.
