On Monday 30 June 2025, Gene Watson reflected on a fun-filled night (on Friday 27 June 2025) at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
‘Summertime brings out an entirely different side of Mother Nature.
We’ve had high winds, excessive heat, and bugs the size of a tour bus on tour.
One place that’s always nice and cool is the Opry.
It was a pleasure to see old friends, and fellow Opry members, Ben Isaacs and Jimmy Fortune, on Friday night (27 June 2025).
I was just seconds away from stepping onstage, when these guys came up and made me laugh out loud.
These two are just good people, and I was glad to see them and have a brief moment to say ‘hello’ ‘

On Friday 8 December 2017, Gene Watson‘s saw the release of ‘My Gospel Roots‘ (Fourteen Carat Music, 2017); one of the included tracks was ‘Build My Mansion (Next Door To Jesus)’, which was written by Dottie Rambo (Friday 2 March 1934 – Sunday 11 May 2008), and featured backing vocals from The Isaacs (Becky Isaacs Bowman and Sonya Isaacs Yeary).
