Gene Watson Mourns Passing of Hal Ketchum: Tuesday 24 November 2020

Details
Published: 24 November 2020

On Tuesday 24 November 2020, Gene Watson mourned the passing, on the evening of Monday 23 November 2020, of fellow country music artist, Hal Ketchum.

Gene Watson

'Very sorry to read this from the publicity team of Hal Ketchum.

Too many passing in 2020:

American country music great, Hal Ketchum, has passed away at age 67.

Some of his most legendary hits as an artist include 'Long Haired Country Boy', which was written by Charlie Daniels (Wednesday 28 October 1936 - Monday 6 July 2020), and was nominated for a Country Music Association (CMA) Award in 1997, 'Past The Point of Rescue' (written by Mick Hanly) (No.2, 1992), 'Small Town Saturday Night' (written by Pat Alger and Hank DeVito) (No.2, 1991) and 'Hearts Are Gonna Roll', which was written by Hal Ketchum and Ronny Scaife (1947 - Wednesday 3 November 2010) (No.2, 1993).

Gene Watson and Hal Ketchum share some country music connections.

On Thursday 17 May 2007, Hal Ketchum visited with Gene Watson at Curb Studio in Nashville, where Gene was recording vocal tracks for 'In a Perfect World' (Shanachie Records, 2007), his debut album for Shanachie Records, which was released on Tuesday 25 September 2007.

On Sunday 27 May 2007, Hal Ketchum graciously submitted a 'Peer's Quote' about Gene Watson, which was a special contribution to a unique part of an online 'Celebration of a Lone Star Hero'.
