Gene Watson Peer's Quote from John Lomax III: November 2006

Gene Watson's Peers within the country music industry believe in the sheer talent of this unassuming man from east Texas, so much so that Gene is regarded by many of them as 'the singer's singer' - and rightly so!

All of Gene Watson's Peers, who were contacted by The Gene Watson Fan Site, during 2006, were most gracious with their time and words.

It is here, within this special part of The Gene Watson Fan Site, that you have an opportunity to read a quote from John Lomax III, which he submitted to this site on Friday 10 November 2006.

Sean Brady would like to take this opportunity to say 'thank you' to John Lomax III who has made a special contribution to a unique part of this online 'celebration of a Lone Star Hero'.

John Lomax III
This quote was submitted on Friday 10 November 2006.

'I've been a big fan of Gene's since I first heard him in 1975 on Resco Records, produced by Russ Reeder.

I worked with Cowboy Jack Clement (Sunday 5 April 1931 - Thursday 8 August 2013), whose then publishing company, Jack Music, published 'Love In The Hot Afternoon', which was written by Kent Westberry and Vincent Wesley Matthews (1940 - Saturday 22 November 2003).

I'm also an old pal of Sarah Brosmer and am excited that John Lytle is working to help bring Gene the recognition his talent merits.

In my view, Gene's one of the finest pure country singers in the history of the genre'

Thank you, John Lomax III, for your support of Gene Watson.
