Gene Watson Peer's Quote from Susanna Van Tassel: March 2010

Gene Watson's Peers within the country music industry believe in the sheer talent of this unassuming man from east Texas, so much so that Gene is regarded by many of them as 'the singer's singer' - and rightly so!

All of Gene Watson's Peers, who were contacted during 2010, were most gracious with their time and words.

It is here, within this special part of The Gene Watson Fan Site, that you have an opportunity to read a quote from Susanna Van Tassel, which she submitted to this site on Saturday 10 April 2010.

Sean Brady would like to take this opportunity to say 'thank you' to Susanna Van Tassel who made a special contribution to this unique part of this online 'celebration of a Lone Star Hero'.

Susanna Van Tassel
This quote was submitted on Saturday 10 April 2010.

'I would be absolutely honoured to provide a quote for The Gene Watson Fan Site.

I am such a fan of Gene Watson; thank you for championing this wonderful artist!

Listening to Gene Watson sing is Heaven.  His voice is effortless, every note pure quality.  His delivery is soulful, emotional and heartfelt.

I love, love, love Gene Watson!'

Thank you, Susanna Van Tassel, for your support of Gene Watson.

About Susanna Van Tassel...

Susanna Van Tassel earned initial respect within the neo-traditionalist country music scene during the early 2000s for both her song-writing and her singing.

Originally rooted in California, Susanna Van Tassel moved from Santa Rosa to Austin, Texas in 1995 in order to further her career as a country music artist.

While she was in Austin, Susanna Van Tassel polished her craft, infusing her neo-traditionalist song-writing style with a hearty dose of honky tonk and incorporating occasional old-timey songs into her performances.

Following contributions to compilation albums, including 'Pushing The Norton' (Heyday Records, 1995) and 'The Edge of Country', Susanna Van Tassel saw the release, on Tuesday 11 July 2000, of her debut album, 'The Heart I Wear' (Texas Roundup Records, 2000), which included the following tracks:

'You Broke The Rules' (written by Lisa Pankratz)
'Everything Is Gonna Be Alright' (written by Susanna Van Tassel)
'I Remember You' (written by The Ramones and Susanna Van Tassel)
'You Won't Make Up Your Mind' (written by Lisa Pankratz)
'Before This Heartache Ends' (written by Susanna Van Tassel)
'You Don't Know Me', which was written by Cindy Walker (Saturday 20 July 1918 - Thursday 23 March 2006) and Eddy Arnold (Wednesday 15 May 1918 - Thursday 8 May 2008)
'Mr. Right' (written by Susanna Van Tassel)
'The Heart I Wear' (written by Susanna Van Tassel)
'Broadminded' (written by Jimmy Payne and L. Williams)
'Night Wind' (written by Bruce Robison)

'Sometimes' (written by Susanna Van Tassel)
'Takin' My Time' (written by Susanna Van Tassel)
