Following years of developing his country music craft around Texas, Gene Watson emerged on the American country music scene in July 1975, and immediately earned himself a reputation as one of the best of the new ‘real country’ singers to emerge on the scene, and for adhering to a traditional country sound, characterised by prominent steel guitar and swirling fiddle.

Sean Brady developed the Original Gene Watson Fan Site between July 2004 and September 2004; the site went ‘live’ on Friday 3 September 2004, and was officially launched on Friday 1 October 2004.
‘I created the site because there was not an online site dedicated to Gene Watson at the time.
I had often ‘surfed’ the net in search of sites dedicated to some of my favourite country music stars.
It was during these searches online that I became aware that one singer in particular, Gene Watson, did not have a website of his own, hence the registration of the gene-watson.com domain name.
I have been an admirer of Gene Watson since January 1992, when he saw the release of ‘In Other Words‘ (Canada: Mercury Records / Polygram Records, 1992 / United States: Broadland International Records, 1992).

Sean Brady strives, with the assistance of Sarah Brosmer at Lytle Management Group in Brentwood, Tennessee to bring Gene Watson fans an informative, often updated and fun Fan Site, without being intrusive of Mr. Watson’s personal life.
In August 2024, Sean Brady enlisted the expertise of Ronan Ward at Homebird Design in Cavan, Ireland, so that a new logo could be created for the Original Gene Watson Fan Site.
