On Sunday 31 August 2025, songwriter and acoustic guitar player, Roger Ball, reflected on his time playing on Gene Watson’s 1993 album, ‘Uncharted Mind‘ (Step One Records, 1993).
‘It’s been about 30 years since recording an album with Gene Watson.
I visited with him in early August (2025) on his bus.
We talked about the good old days, and generally did some catching up.

In December 1993, Gene Watson saw the release of ‘Uncharted Mind‘ (Step One Records, 1993), his first album for Step One Records; one of the included tracks was ‘Give Her My Best’, which was written by Roger Ball and Debbie Hullett.
