Gene Watson’s Peers within the country music industry believe in the sheer talent of this unassuming man from east Texas, so much so that Gene is regarded by many of them as ‘the singer’s singer’ – and rightly so!
All of Gene Watson’s Peers, who were contacted by The Gene Watson Fan Site, during 2023, were most gracious with their time and words.
It is here, within this special part of The Gene Watson Fan Site, that you have an opportunity to read a quote from Darryl Worley, which he submitted to this site on Thursday 6 April 2023.
Sean Brady would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to Darryl Worley who has made a special contribution to a unique part of this online ‘celebration of a Lone Star Hero’.
Sean Brady would also like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to Amy Aylward at Fusion Touring Company in Nashville, and Julianne Drenon at CreekHouse Entertainment in Nashville, without whom this Gene Watson ‘Peer’s Quote’ from Darryl Worley who would not have been possible.
Darryl Worley
This quote was submitted on Sunday 2 April 2023.
‘I had many country music heroes, but Gene Watson was probably always my favourite country singer of all times.
If you ever have a chance to hear him live, you will know that he is an incredible vocalist, and technically very few could even hold a candle to him’
Thank you, Darryl Worley, for your support of Gene Watson.
