Gene Watson Peer’s Quote From Jason Blume: January 2025

Gene Watson's Peers

Gene Watson’s Peers within the country music industry believe in the sheer talent of this unassuming man from east Texas, so much so that Gene is regarded by many of them as ‘the singer’s singer’ – and rightly so!

All of Gene Watson’s Peers, who were contacted during 2025, were most gracious with their time and words.

It is here, within this special part of The Gene Watson Fan Site, that you have an opportunity to read a quote from Jason Blume, which he submitted to this site on Tuesday 21 January 2025.

Sean Brady would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to Jason Blume who made a special contribution to this unique part of this online ‘celebration of a Lone Star Hero’.

‘Before becoming a successful songwriter, I worked in the country music promotion department at RCA Records in the 1980s.

It was an amazing time to be there, as our artists included the Judds, Kenny Rogers (Sunday 21 August 1938 – Friday 20 March 2020), Dolly Parton, Alabama, Vince Gill, and so many other iconic artists.

So I was well aware of Gene Watson’s music.

He is the real deal in traditional country music – an awesome vocalist and interpreter of songs’

Thank you, Jason Blume, for your support of Gene Watson.
